Medical marijuana in AZ - anyone? (Or just anyone with experience)

I am moving to AZ from a state where it is not legal. I'm very curious if anyone here uses it. It could possibly be helpful for me in multiple ways. I also have anxiety and chronic pain which I take medication for and might be able to get off some medications if MM works. I don't know anyone who has a medical card or anything so any information is appreciated.

I have used it. I live in CA. Unfortunately it makes my anxiety worse and it didn't help my UC symptoms directly. it can help with pain and reduced appetite. I definitely wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket but i am sure there are some people doing very well with it, so maybe you will be one of them.

Interesting, with mmj they have an array of varieties used to treat individual issues, anxiety being one of them...learned about it when I went for my first appointment for mmj, currently been smoking mj, mmj will be customized to what issues I want to treat it with, gut issues, insomnia and anxiety, that's the difference between mmj and regular mj. They can also make it so I don't feel the head high, just the physical benefits I need it for...I'm in Canada., I can choose flavors too which will be nice, since I'm hoping it will cut way down on the horrid taste, they will also show me how to make it in oil form and ways to use the kief and how to make edibles. Maybe that's the difference with getting medical mj through the doctors, they will also provide me with a choice of suppliers as well.

I live in Ontario and have been using prescribed MMJ for about two years now.
It's still very much a work-in-progress and it will take a lot of trial and error before I can find the ideal strain for me.

Meanwhile, I have to say the search for that perfect illusive strain is quite enjoyable.
It's a case of getting the right balance of THC/CBD to relieve UC symptoms.

The MMJ industry (yes it's a huge industry now) have moved at an exponential pace over the past few years. There seems to be more scientific and less anecdotal evidence claimed in it's efficacy for a myriad of conditions.

In my own case, it has kept me prednisone-free (and all the other questionable 'medications') for OVER A YEAR. Sure, I still suffer minor-moderate flares but they are usually short lived. I still have the misery of 3-5 BMs (some a bit urgent) but I consider MMJ a success for preventing me becoming pred-dependant, and I'm sure most people on this site would have to agree with me on that score.

In the case of anxiety, I find that it has a mostly calming effect. It has to be self- titrated gradually though, especially if using it as a 'tincture' or the many other edible versions. The only way I take it is as a (home-made) tincture or inhaled via a vaporizer.

I have been using marijuana to treat symptoms for about a year..but now have a medical card for about a month. I have found that it takes the edge off most of my symptoms, but without medication I am still in pain. Without marijuana for flare ups however, it would be impossible. It truly is a saving grace. When it comes to anxiety, that and lithium are the only things that have been successful. All other anti-anxiety or anti-depressants didn't do anything for me at all. Currently I am struggling with hashimoto's, gastroperesis, and a handful of other things and medical marijuana has helped with all of it. Any strain of it has helped. Edibles are not the best for me personally, and I either smoke or use a vaporizer. Hope this helps. I would love to answer any more questions if you need.
