Pain question

Hi all, I'm still fairly new to this, was diagnosed with proctitis is November but am not responding well to meds and feel I am starting to have more symptoms so worry it may be getting worse/spreading.

Anyways, my question is about pain. I have gotten this far without a whole lot of it, which made me fairly lucky, however this has been a very bad week for me so far. One day I have very severe frontal stomach pain which felt like intense cramping..,.this is what I imagine 'normal' UC pain is like. I also experience back flank pain quite often....,right around the love handle area and it is more of a dull throbbing.....is this also typical of UC pain? I am also slightly concerned I have a bladder issue and hope to get an appointment with a urologist adapt.

Yes flank pain is normal for my UC but I get pain in my entire abdominal and back area. The colon takes up that whole spot and when it is inflamed, it puts pressure on the other organs. That is why It can hurt to pee and obviously poop when you are flaring.

Thanks for your input all. Have an appointment with my GP to ask him about it and possibly see a urologist. It's very unusual back pain as it usual happens about once a month-ish. It comes out of nowhere and I also get the sweats and feel like I have to pee to the point of feeling like I may pee my pants but upon going to the bathroom nothing. Anyways, even if they just tell me it is colitis pain at least I will know. Will update with how it turns out!
