Lower right GI bleed

I'm a 51 yr old diagnosed with crohns in 2011. This is my 3rd flare & by far the worst. I've been on Lialda 2x day and everything has been fine until about 2 weeks ago. I was very proactive & went to my GI right away & he increased my Lialda to 4x day & added Uceris (a safe steroid). After 11 days I began running a fever & the pain while going to the bathroom was extremely painful. I had been passing some blood. My Dr. ordered a CT Scan which showed my lower right GI is a mess. Dr. Put me on 40 mg prednisone, Cipro & Flagyl. On a clear liquid diet, my fever broke last night but I am still having "extremely" painful BM's and lots of blood. Just looking for ideas on how long it should take the prednisone to start taking effect. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated & comforting. Thanks.

Thanks Marauder93. I'm trying to decide if I need a medical leave from work. I managed to get 2 star days off so I don't have to work until Friday. I work as a dealer in a casino & I don't have access to a bathroom quick enough if I need one. Not to mention that I am moaning in pain while going. I've never felt so bad in my life. I thought I was turning a corner when the fever broke.

Update - ended up in the hospital on Sunday do I never made it to the colonoscopy. Greatful I came in. My potassium is low, sodium high, & a bunch of other stuff. I'm on IV steroids, still on Cipro, no more Flagyl as it was making me too sick. No c-diff infection. I'm not sure how long I'll be here, but I know it's the best place for me. I'll keep you posted
