do we absorb medications even when having diarhea... pls help with yr experiences

It is a good thing that you are paying attention closely to what upsets your stomach and I hope you are careful about taking/trying 1 new thing at a time. You need to get to know your body well with UC and don't risk putting yourself in a downward spiral by pushing to hard on supplements or food you are not tolerating. I have given up on so many supplements over the years because I had an adverse reaction. If the reaction is really bad I don't try it again. If it's milder, I wait till my system recovers and might try again a few days later often with a smaller dosage/amount. If I have some success with a smaller amount I work very slowly to eventually increase it to normal amount if I think it is necessary. As far as absorption goes it's a complicated answer. Many foods and supplements do pass thru the system without getting properly absorbed if your flaring/ suffering with diarrhea. I think for me some drugs get absorbed to fast into the blood stream when my system is running too fast.

I am just taking this anti ulcer drug.
But i do hope you can clarify a little more on this...or at least go ahead with how i am feeling.

You see, say when i take this anti ulcer drug , dont feel any uneasiness whatsoever.
Say an hour later, maybe feeling a little discomfort ...barely little.....
But could be my mind making me feel things because its bare minimal.
If i was healthy i wouldnt notuce it.

But the next day, i might get loose stools and diarhea.
Discomfort from disrhea but nth painful...
As stated i get this reaction from l supplements and meds.
On none right now.

Would people still continue taking their supps or drugs if its doing this to them?
