It's been a while..

I'm sure most of you remember me. I've been flaring since June, tried just about everything including 4 doses of remicade, the last two being 10mg and the last one being done about a month ago) that being said, I'm still flaring, a lot of urgencies including disruptive sleep, cramping ect. Appetite is fine, not losing much blood but I still can't leave the house except to go to the doctor. I think it's safe to say that remicade hasn't done a much for me if anything at all. My next step for my flare is an appointment with a surgeon at Cleveland clinic on November 3rd. I'm hoping I can move forward in the route of surgery.

Good luck to you! Surgery, for me, has been liberating. whatever the final outcome, I feel like my future will be better off without worrying about this illness. The surgeries are not easy and the recovery stinks but I've been well enough to leave the hospital after 3 days and i bounced back pretty quickly. The ostomy bag isn't as bad as you probably imagine - so just take it easy, go on your consult and see how you feel. It's nice that you're in close proximity to cleveland clinic, i've only heard rave reviews :)

When did you have the surgery? And I hope I can get the ball rolling after my first appointment with the surgeon and that he agrees surgery is the best option because I don't even wanna try any more medications as he might suggest

Sorry to hear you're still struggling. Surgery and then a life free of uc sounds like a great thing, especially since uc has been anything but easy for you.
