Hi there, you'll really have to find out for yourself what your own triggers are and that will take some time. Remission is a great opportunity to do it!
But anything that's abrasive to the lining of the gut is best avoided for anyone with gastronomic issues - imagine gluing sesame seeds, for instance, to a piece of paper then running that paper over an
open sore.
Nuts, seeds and coffee are best avoided. All raw food should be avoided. If you're not doing so great at this moment in time, I would go easy on the veg and stick to white meats, fish and potato type dishes.
From your post, it sounds like you're currently in remission so if you don't have D and aren't making lots of toilet visits then you could start with an elimination diet to evaluate how different foods affect you and try to adopt an eating plan that suits your condition.
You might want to look into resistant starches as well and see how they affect you, they helped me. But ultimately, you'll have to find whatever works best for you as human gut bacteria are very diverse from person to person and determine how well we handle different types of food, particularly when our health is affected.
Off topic from diet, check what emotional stressors you might have in your life and do what you can to get rid of them - I've found no better medication than that for maintenance and staying sane ; )
