First Humira Treatment Today

I took my first 4 Humira shots today. I hope this works for me. The shots went much better than I expected. I've been on remicade for nine years, but needed to make a change due to finances. The remicade went from a small copay to about $700 per treatment (a little to rich for me).

I hope humira works for you. My copay increased to $700 as well for remicade but remistart covered it until my deductible was met. Was this not an option for you?

Hope the Humira works for you!! It put my severe crohn's colitis and RV fistula in remission, like you, I'm either allergic or non-responsive to the traditional oral meds too.

Humira worsened my symptoms and caused my C-Diff to come back multiple times. It also created massive clots that passed through my stool. Didn't work for me, but it could for you!

I started Humira about a month or so ago. So far I am doing the one shot every two weeks. Not sure if it is working yet (though I haven't noticed any negative effects). $300 a shot. Crazy.

Remistart was great but once you go on Medicare they stop helping. My medicare and supplement pay the same as they did when I was just on regular insurance so it doesn't make sense to me why they stop helping, but they do. My infusion nurse had warned me that it would happen and Remistart kept paying for the first year I was on medicare, but they stopped this year hence my switch to Humira. Humira is also a lot more convenient. So if it works, I'll be a happy boy.

Hoping the humira works for you. I think pb4 mentioned from someone else. That if you take Benadryl the night before humira it can help alleviate headaches some ppl get

Out of curiosity how much is your Humira treatment?

Are you having any symptoms since you stopped Remicade? Some people who've been on Remicade for a long time have been able to stop and stay in remission without needing another biological.

Benadryl definitely helped me when I was on Humira with the itching and headaches.
