Hello,
I understand about
the Canasa Cost..I think mine is around $700 as well maybe $1000..When I didn't have insurance or a discount card. I just wanted to remind folks out here, in case you're not aware..there are discounts or patient assistant programs and you can sign up on the Canasa website (or most medication websites). For those who can't afford the med look for "Patient Assistance Program" also known as "PAP". These meds are sent to you for free and they will continue to do so as long as you update your information and provide a 1040 tax return and possibly check stubs at the beginning of the fiscal year. (The drug company ships the meds directly to your home.) Now for those who have insurance that you pay into each month (not government like medicaid or medicare) there are discount cards that you can print out on their website and you will pay no more than $10 per your medications each month. If I didn't use this with my insurance mine would be around $50..but because I use the discount card on top of my private insurance it only costs me $10 per month..which is amazing! I won't go into the fact that my health insurance is a fortune each month..that's another story. I hope this helps. I used to work at a pharmacy where we specialized in advocating for those who were unaware of this option from drug companies and needed the assistance.
I apologize..there is a discount program for Canasa but I don't think it is as good as the one for Lialda. I'm on both and was actually speaking of Lialda..but there is a discount card on the canasa Website that you can use. I'm apologize for the confusion. I'm having a flare up now so I'm really tired.
