Canker like red spots on Tongue

hello fellow UC'ers havent been on here in a bit - I've been in remission since April 2015 finally after 2 years in a stubborn proctitis flare.... I have these canker like red spots on my tongue this is the second time I've gotten it in the past month... i know this may be weird as to why Im asking but ive seen online various stuff saying it may be because of my colitis... has anyone had this as a side effect while in remission... I'm currenlty taking 2 mezavant once per day.

anyways any thoughts comments appreciated...

Look up geographic tongue....is it like that?

I don't think so , i wish I could post a picture, its bright red patchy area....

I get canker sores in my mouth and throat and GI said its related to UC.

Patchy area...not an ulcerated spot?

Is it painful?

frigg no way eh, so okay it's likely related... hmmmm ya its patchy and ulcerated, i wish i could figure out how to do the pic... i feel so un tech savy lol
