So I have been on imuran a year maybe longer, and Humira a year maybe. The combination has me in remission, but the last blood work showed I have enlarged red blood cells. So I have to do an ultrasound on my liver, my dr wants to make sure everything is ok but he wasn't too alarmed. Anyway I just read the information again on these medicines and it did scare the crap out of me. Do you guys worry about
this stuff? I am worried but I know I need the medicines to keep the beast under control as well

The risks are pretty low...in fact, having IBD flaring increases your risk of colon cancer but it's low as well...I was inflamed for 23 yrs straight in my colon from crohn's colitis (where the inflammation can go even deeper in the lining of the colon) and I still never ended up getting cancer yet so I would put that worry right out of your mind, don't worry unless you have to I suppose.
p.s. IBD scares the crap literally out of me more than the med risks lol!

Having uc increases our odds of some things, but not incredibly. You've got to weigh the risks verses the benefits. The most concerning side effect of these medications is lymphoma which has odds of 6 in 10,000 (or 0.06 percent) compared to 2 in 10,000 ( or 0.02 percent) for the general population. The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America is the source for these statistics:

I tend to have similar reactions when I read medicine side effects or possible risks. I've hammered into my brain that possible doesn't really mean probable and worrying about
it doesn't change the probability

As others have said, risks are low. As a by the way, enlarged Rb cells is a standard side effect of azathioprine (over the years mine have often been so). You should be reassured that your GI isn't concerned but is just being doubly sure with the scan.
Hope all goes well.

There is always something to worry about
. I had surgery, and while I am 100% free of medication, I still worry about
the risk of pouchitis. If it's not one thing, it's another. Stay healthy and enjoy life. Chances are in your favor by far with this. The risk is actually quite low on the doses we take for UC.
I mean, look at the stats iPoop posted:

.06, that's a small chance.

Thank you so much guys!! Yeah I am happy my
Dr is on it and making sure. I think it's hard to accept these things are always possible and so is flaring. I just have to come to terms with these things as best as I can
