Hi, here's another chapter of my relationship with this weird illness, your feedback would be great...
I suppose I hit rock bottom last summer (July) when my GI prescribed two months of Clipper (beclometasone dipropionate). Mesalamine enemas and pills weren't enough to stop that flare. But the corticosteroids worked great
and in September my faecal calprotectin has dropped to less than 50 from around 1100. In remission since then I have been trying to tapper the enemas. I started using one daily and I lowered to one every other day. My goal for 2016 was 3 enemas/week (as my GI said) but I had occasional pain or mucus or loose stools and sometimes I've had some extra enema to play safe, maybe 2 more per month. However I though I was improving and I was ready to try the 3enemas/week regimen last week. But I didn't start it because...
Last week rectal pain started again and it's being more frequent and this week I'm having mucus discharge every evening
. Around 8 PM every day gas it's building up and later I have the mucus discharge. The mucus is more or less clear, maybe some really really small red dots than I fear could be blood but it's nothing.
Since the pain came back last week I've changed to enema daily trying to tame the beast... Still nothing.
So I've been worse but I wanted to discuss this with you all. ¿do you notice this progression of symptoms in a flare: pain->mucus->blood? ¿is your UC strangely active in the evening? ¿should I worry, can I do more, should I call my GI soon?
Hope you're having a good weekend and sorry if my English is confusing
