If you're in a bad flare up and you have a cruise in 9 days, you're certainly cutting it close. I am not sure how many times you're going or how intense the urgency is, but being out of my home makes me very nervous when I am in a severe flare up. On the hugely positive side, you're not on a lot of meds and you have many options. It's just the short timeframe leading up to this cruise that is difficult. Perhaps you could try some rectal meds that are stronger than Canasa? When was your last scope? Do you have a GI who will call something in for you? You should call him/her and let them know what's going on, then they may offer some options. If it's beyond the rectum, you could potentially take a course of steroids to get you into a good place very quickly and allow you to enjoy your cruise. I hate steroids, but it may be a quick fix in the time you have. Uceris is a steroid with much less side effects, you could ask about it, it's not as effective as prednisone but it may help depending on the severity. :( Sorry you're feeling bad. You could also try another mesalamine, like Lialda, if it's beyond the left side, colazal may not be the most effective for you. You would really need a scope to see where you're active to know.
