Kick your butt? I gotta tell you it seems like it really affects me longer since dx with UC.

Mostly headaches!

Yea my kid got sick, then she gave it to me. She had it two days, i got hit 4 days!

I would think with UC that you should have your yearly flu shot. Also people with compromised colons can become dehydrated more easily which can lead to headaches.

I've had the flu twice in 3 years and I take the shot every year. I didn't seem to do any worse then my husband and son. I do get headaches a lot regularly although it seems to be hormonally related. Hope u feel better soon!

Colds (I don't know about the flu, I don't think I've ever had it) really kick my butt nowadays. In my teens and 20s I tended to get hit much harder for the first two days, but then after that I would rapidly get better. Now I don't get that initial whammy, but the cold goes on and on. I have only just got over a recent cold and cough that lingered on for weeks. I've also had two cold sores and an eye infection recently. Get headaches fairly often as well, though I think those are sinus-related.

I do think I have some wacky immune issues going on, which I never had pre-Crohn's.

It's actually the opposite for me. I don't get a flu shot but I rarely get sick at all. If I do, it lasts for maybe a day and then I'm back to normal the next day. I do a lot of hippie natural crap to combat it though.

Before I started getting the flu shot, I had the flu and it knocked me down majorly! I thought every joint was gonna implode! Since then I have got the flu shot as a precaution. But dang, even though it was several years ago, it felt like yesterday.

I used to develop the flu frequently. Once I changed my diet, avoiding grains mainly, along with getting some sensible UV sun exposure, and taking vitamin D3 aiming for a testing level around 50g/ml, I've been pretty much cold free. And with that mention hope I didn't jinx myself.
