imagardener2 - can you tell us/me more about your diet? I have decided to try that rout now that my Dr decided to put me on Entiviyo after my last flare. An escalation that has been growing steadily for the past few years.
I have cut Dairy 100%, Gluten 90%, no raw vegetables, avoiding GMO and processed foods.I am consulting with a specialist on the subject, waiting for different blood results to come back first.
I have been constipated for the past week (painful)... trying to figure out what food caused / can bring back balance. (I think I ate too much nutz as snack)
I also love nuts and they make me constipated and then bleed. Sad but true.
Sorry for delayed response, just saw this.
My "avoid" food list is extensive but the highlights are: no gluten or other grains, almost no fiber (causes constipation and then bleeding), almost no fruit due to fructose and fiber, no citrus, no onions, garlic or black pepper, chocolate and other candy is rare, no sugar in drinks, almost no processed food except for bacon and ham.
What I eat: meat (no seafood), lots of potatoes, butter and olive oil, green veggies low in fiber (spinach is great), carrots, coconut milk replaces dairy in drinks and homemade baked goods, caff. tea and coffee in the morning, white wine, lots of herbs used in cooking, dill, lemon basil, chili pepper in curry stir fry, homemade liver pate. My hubby makes great gluten-free profiteroles and when I fall off the food wagon it's usually with ice-cream and/or chocolate. Udi's gluten-free white bread and Glutino gluten-free pretzel sticks are gut-approved but most other gluten-free items are not.
It's more important for you to find your own gut-approved list of foods.
In the beginning my OK foods were so few it was boring and difficult but as I healed more foods were possible. I don't feel deprived and it's great to have a happier, more reliable colon.
There are lots of cookbooks out there for people with food intolerances, many in your library.
Good luck.
