Simponi and humira are both subcutaneous (just below the skin) self-injections, of a tnf-alpha blocking biologic medication. Each has a slightly different molecular structure that's patented by a different pharmaceutical company. A typical Humira dose is a biweekly injection. Simponi is an injection once every 4 weeks. They're very similar medications, risk profiles, and benefits. You could always try simponi and see if you don't get the swelling.
Remicade is once every 8 weeks (after the initial, more frequent loading doses). You can't get away to a hospital, gastroenterologist office, or sports medicine office once every 2 months? Sometimes insurance will approve a nurse coming to your home or work to give the IV infusion for remicade, easier to get when the nearest location is far from your home...
