Oh, I know you've both described difficulties during the process a while back. Lot's of new users since, so it's always helpful to mention again, occasionally, and I'm learning too (Insert "the more you know rainbow"). Good stuff.
How about dehydration? How careful do you need to be afterwards? A healthy colon/large intestine absorbs a lot of water, without one you pass more water. Do you have to drink more and need to be more careful than before when outdoors and active?
So timing of eating and what you eat is important to control output. You need to manage it for best results. Interesting.
If I don't have any leak issues during the night, I can sleep all night without emptying my pouch, I love those nights. I do try to take immodium before I go to bed to help. It's when my stool is more liquid that I tend to have the leaks.
As far as dehydration, initially it was tough. I had admitted myself to the ER at one point for fluids as I couldn't keep up with my water loss. Now, as my body is adjusting, I have NO issue what so ever. I drink maybe one gatorade a day some water, I'll drink soda, milk, OJ and haven't felt the symptoms of dehydration in a long time.
I know this is a dumb question, are probiotics beneficial for the small intestine? I thought they were only intended to populate the colon with good bacteria and were designed to survive the small intestine.
Some foods go through quicker than normal. I drink grape juice, I can tell when it comes out, it's a greenish / purple color. I can see some foods that didn't get digested come through as well so it gives me an idea of how long that meal took to go through my body. I really don't try to plan or eat meals at certain times. If I'm hungry I'll eat, even if it's late at night
