Some on the forum don't believe IBS even exists, or maybe the term is inappropriate. You could write it on your list for next time to ask. I'm interested to know, lol.

Yes, xifaxin is an antibiotic....it's used for travellers' diarrhea and advertised for IBS diarrhea. I have a friend who has CD, and she has had ongoing diarrhea since her resections of ileum and surrounding area. I suggested it, and her doctor brought it up as well. She has improved A LOT after using it. She's also now on apriso. It's possible that it helped something that was a bit out of whack regarding gut flora.
I still thing you should look at food you eat on a continual basis..it's possible your gut just doesn't like certain grains. Have you tried quinoa?
