Blood work schedule for Entyvio?

I had my first Entyvio infusion last Thursday 6/30 and my 2nd is next Thursday 7/14. My GI has not put in any orders for blood work yet. I'm going to call and ask them about it.

But first, I wanted to ask the experts here - how often should my blood be tested while on Entyvio?

I'm no expert but want to report that I have blood work done right before every infusion - both CBC and metabolic panel.

The weird thing is they do the infusion before the lab results come back. But I ask them to print out results which are delivered by the end of the infusion, so that I can compare to prior numbers. Still puzzling over that...

I'm curious. What exactly are they testing (name of test?) and what for (can something specific go wrong in blood?) entyvio. Other biologics don't require regular bloodwork...

I had assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that my response to Entyvio would need to be monitored with regular blood work, like it did when I started taking 6-MP. Waiting for my GI to call back though. Thanks for the responses!

Just chiming in: now that I am in remission I get bloodwork done at every other infusion, so every 16 weeks. My GI is pretty aggressive with monitoring but does not see the need for bloodwork with every infusion given what she's seen with this drug (and she had participated in trials, too). If anything felt off between infusions, though, I would ask for bloodwork.
