How are moderators proponents of anything? They share info, experience, research links, etc. Other members who use alternatives is the support, not the moderators in their role. They are support when not in their role, and they do it fine.

Stop the whining already and move on to post what works for you or ask questions and ask for support if you need it, or create your own forum and have it only on alternate treatments. Not all agree and have the freedom to say so. But it's obvious who the ones who are wanting to pick at and stir at the crap.

This isn't the thread to complain about ads and moderators. Sheesh.

So....why should you be offended about that? We all have to adjust about other's perspectives. Attacks and downright rudeness is the issue. If you want to be here....there is always an adjustment period and learning process. For those if us who have strong opinions.....warnings are issued and the choice is to make a change or leave. Been there, done that....growth is good.

No one is more special than another and shouldn't expect it. Opinions are shared. The how and reaction is the issue.

There's a word for disease which goes into remission via alternative treatments.

11 years would be a long time to go living how I was toward the end. I literally couldn't leave the house, nor could I sleep due to toilet trips.

This is definitely getting off topic. If we want to discuss people from the past & anyone has information on their well-being, I'd love to hear. If this is a discussion on symptom severity or alternative treatments, it needs a new thread.

Diet and alternative proponents are welcome, and encouraged, to start a topic. We rarely lock anything, except in the case of name-calling or breaking a forum rule - which seems to happen often on those threads - which I do not participate in due to the reason I stated earlier (having nothing valuable to add). People asking for research to back up a claim, in my opinion, is logical, not meant to be confrontational. There are quite a few members here who are involved in research and probably have interest in seeing data. Thinking a new member who posts a link is a spammer - again, logical. If you look at the history of new members posting links, it's obvious that 99% of the time, it is spam.

This is a flaw in the system and maybe explains one or two missing people but certainly not all.

Sorry that happened to you. It's actually quite uncommon, and unfortunately, there is no way to get the email address of the moderators here if you're locked out - so we can't help you get in - and there is no way we would know you were locked out if we locked you accidentally . The admin is [email protected]. You can find that on the "about Us" Page at the top. www.healingwell.com/aboutus.aspx - not sure if you can access that while locked out?

I'm locking this thread as it has been waay off topic for a while now. And I'm seeing a lot of the old rumblings/feud of no-med versus pro-medications in this thread, which isn't exactly helpful. There's been some veiled pot shots thrown at others, like poison pills and others as well. Let's be respectful of others treatments, whether or not you agree with them. Otherwise, it's incitement of others, and just blatant "cruising for a bruising".

Whatever your individual solution is, that's great for you but I can assure you that your solution doesn't universally apply to everyone with uc (whether it's a diet, remicade, or one of a thousand variations/combinations of other possible treatments). And I can assure you that your solution isn't somehow purer or better than any one else's solution is. It's just your solution, others have there's, and as long as we're not suffering from debilitating uc symptoms then it's all good, and worthy of congratulations. We're all well aware of how much uc symptoms suck, being free of that is wonderful. Cheers,
