Mesmer used to pass magnets over people for healing purposes, this was in some respects the origins of the placebo effect and modern hypnosis.
If you guys want to pretend that the drugs for UC that have been approved by the medical community are scarcely better than placebo and that having magnets passed over you is a better idea, I strongly recommend doing more research and discussing it with a doctor. I'm not concerned about
your own experiments but recommending other people go with you seems a big reckless, remember that advice you write on this forum may be taken up by someone who is having a very hard time and desperately looking for relief.
If I slip steroids into your drink every day, two things are likely to happen. 1. You will question my apparently extremely bitter palette. 2. The inflammation will heal up. You don't need to believe it will or know it will - in fact you could even know I'm doing it and strongly believe it won't help. It works because it's the real deal. Yes it doesn't work for everyone, and there are a range of responses, but keep repeating your experiments with IBD patients and you'll find something very interesting. Good luck doing that with your magnetism experiments.
I'm a great advocate of the mind and its power, I believe we essentially create our reality in our minds, that the world out there has no meaning until we create that meaning, and that healing through changes in mind space is absolutely possible. The power therefore is not in the magnets, nor the crystals. It's in you. But I am not going to tell a cancer sufferer to cheer up and believe everything's gonna be dandy, and expect that to do the job. Again, I'm a big advocate of positive mental space and that's very useful, but more so is treatment!
