Husband is in remission with the Xeljanz.
Trying to get off steroids (after 3 years) now using hydrocortisone regime. At the equivalent of about 10 mg prednisone. At this level, all withdrawal side effects went away except numbness in toes and now numbness is expanding to foot. Playing phone tag with endocrinologist to see whether he should up the steroids to see if that gets rid of the numbness. Previously he had numbness when trying to taper, but it went away when had to increase the steroid dosage.
Endocrinologist does't seem convinced that the numbness is associated with taper and low adrenal function, but it does seem to be a pattern for him.
Meantime, very worried that numbness is worsening and will be permanent, even as adrenals start to kick in. He has a patch of numbness on his leg that developed with a previous taper and it appears permanent, even when previously upped steroid intake.
Does anyone have experience with numbness in the extremities coinciding with steroid taper? Did it eventually go away?
