Azathioprine never caused those symptoms to me. When I have circulation problems it's because of my orthostatic intolerance. I hope you're drinking enough.

There's been times I have been that weak. Mostly I think it was from lack of proper nutrition, not getting enough rest and being run down. You have gone through a lot. Your body needs rest and will force you to do it if you won't willingly.

Not sure what to advise of your vacation plans. If the trip entails a lot of time sitting on the beach or by a pool, it might be good for you to get away for a while. But if it's a a more active type trip you might want to consider rescheduling if you can.

Since you had the same thing happen even though you stopped the meds, you might want to start taking them again.

You're right CC I've been through almost 3 months of hell. I'm wondering when I'm going to feel like "me" agsin? I seem so far away....

It is a beach /pool getaway. I'll see how I am tomorrow. Today I wouldn't have been able to go.

Working hard at ridding myself of abscess --/-I do hope it's gone. I'm using WOO & colloidal silver enemas.
Sadly, despite what the MRI said 3 weeks ago, I believe I have a rectal-vaginal fistula:(((. It just keeps going. Every week is a new surprise.

I started Wellbutrin ....has anti tnf & it's probably good for me.

Ive felt very weak during flares as well. Unless I cant control bowels I would go. Good to get away and relax. The only time my WBC went up on 6mp was when I had an active infection.

Since starting imuran on Tues I've had episodes (hours...better in evening) of extreme physical weakness like I can't move and shortness of breath... I have to hang onto walls to walk....

...Woke ok today but upon exertion the entire episode happened again. I almost collapsed taking dog out & was hyperventilating. Back in bed.

Is this the imuran or simply because I've been really sick the last 2 months?

I'm going on mini vacation in 2 days....wondering if I should cancel??

Physical weakness and shortness of breath are side effects of Humira. They reason your GIs can't tell you whether or not the symptoms are due to the Humira is that the symptoms could also be due to the illness. My GI thought my physical weakness and shortness of breath were due to my being ill and anemic and not from the Remicade (which also can cause these side effects). However, I still had the physical weakness and shortness of breath after I was no longer ill and anemic. They weren't as bad, but they were still bad. I also had painful feet, hands, ... , which made it hard to get up and walk.

You still need to weigh which is worse, living with the physical weakness and shortness of breath for awhile or risk having your condition get worse due to the UC.

You should cancel your mini vacation if it will give you added stress. However, if you feel that going on a vacation will help you relax and de-stress, then you don't cancel it.

Shortness of breath etc could also be mini panic attack or anxiety. You have been under tremendous stress, and anxiety can cause pretty scary symptoms. I hope you are feeling well enough to get away. If your UC symptoms and abscess symptoms are not going to consume you, then why not? There is no wrong decision on this one. I would say "go with your gut" but that's not always helpful for IBD sufferers.

I had shortness of breath on exertion from Remicade. These drugs are very similar and have many of the same side effects.

Right ambling, I couldn't take Imuran but I am taking Humira, so they are not similar.

UB Tough, hope you are doing better. Do you think it might be the Wellbutrin? My sister had an adjustment period when she started taking it, made her dizzy at first but that went away after a week or so.

Well shoot, I couldn't take the dang Imuran either, figures, the cheaper easier thing to take doesn't work out.

Im on Humira too, is it new for you? It's super fun to inject, lol, no it's not. 😒😐 Let it get to room temp before you inject it. I got impatient on my last one, didn't wait and that shyte burned like a mo fo and my injection site stung like hell for awhile. Some people like the stomach for injecting, not for me, that hurt too, I stick to my legs. That's my big Humira advice.

Fatigue is listed as a possible side effect on every class of UC medications all of which have very different mechanisms of action and active ingredients, from anti-inflammatory Mesalamine (Asacol or Apriso), to immunomodulators (Imuran or 6mp), and finally to biologics (Humira or Remicade). Fatigue is often associated as a symptom of having Ulcerative Colitis, especially during flares, and it can be further exacerbated by complications thereof, such as anemia and low vitamin B-12 levels (which are common complications of having UC). Whenever you see a side effect that is known of the disease itself when no medications are taken, and all medication classes as well, it makes me highly suspicious that it's infact the UC and complications thereof causing the fatigue and not the medication. It's possible a medication could cause fatigue, but you'd certainly have to use a process of elimination and some current bloodwork to ensure it's not anemia low B-12, etc.

Simularly, hairloss or thinning hair is listed as a possible side effect on every class of UC medication and also the disease itself. Often, it is the same, a result of the flare and anemia and nutrient deficiencies during it. The hairloss may not appear the first day of the flare, it is often a delayed-reaction until it happens. The hair regrows as a delayed-recovery to us having healed and replacing those lost nutrients. It's not immediate, it takes a while.

I think the same thing can happen with fatiugue, a delayed-reaction from a flare as well as a delayed-recovery as we heal.
