I use tramadol/acetaminophin when I need it (but that's just about never) - everything makes me nauseous and itchy. I take zofran, like Sherry. It depends on the type of pain of course. It is possible you could try bentyl for cramping/spasms - it never worked for me. If it's a migraine, there are a bunch of other drugs you could try, even preventatives. For UC pain, my GI would give me bentyl (which didn't do much of anything). The key is to heal the inflammation so you don't need to take pain pills. I've also taken Robaxin but that's minimally useful at the dose they prescribed orally.
Thanks a bunch for replying, notsosicklygirl! I agree with you; the key is to heal the inflammation but unfortunately the inflammation won't heal and I need something in the mean time to cope with the pain. I don't think I've ever used bentyl so I'm going to ask my doctor about
that; i've written it down. I have zofran already which I'm using for nausea.
