LOL. You're right. Grammar was never my strong suit. I'm a former Electrical Engineer who worked on government programs related to national security. Science and research matter, at least to me.

I'm not the scientist or researcher here but other's are, I'm sure their grammar will be on-point.

The intention of starting this thread is to inquire around the the conversations of Vaccine's and IBD, If okay with you, I'd prefer to leave further comments on this thread for that important topic. Regarding Vaccine's, this was sent to me privately. Respecting their privacy here is a patient's anonymous thoughts

"This is something that has been hard for me to cope with because I refused the shot and the nurse bullied me and told me I was not allowed to refuse it and gave it to me anyway. I will never forget that moment. I have always wondered if that was legally assault. I decided to let it go because I just don't know how I would prove it and I contacted them and they said they dump their records after seven years. It has been nine years. I knew right away the MMR Vaccine caused my UC but no doctor would listen to me. Then what happened to Dr. Wakefield made me want to hide under a rock."

This is obviously anecdotal, and simply one patients viewpoint, but it does beg the question, are others's experiencing the same. It's an evolving conversation we are having, proving anything from nine years ago is unlikely, and not the intention of my question. It's simply to learn more from other patients. What questions are there around Vaccine's and IBD.

Personally, I'm on the fence and unsure if Vaccine's contributed to my declining health a few years ago. Three medical doctors and two attorneys believe it did. I would have a case except by the time I recovered, and had the gutsy courage, and more importantly, a clear mind and brain to consider a lawsuit(ref NVIC), the statute of limitations had passed.

And what good is it going to do to inquire here about vaccines? All you will get is anecdotes. And hopefully you're familiar with the saying that the plural of anecdotes is not data.

No need to involve yourself in controversy here, this will be resolved very soon. Andrew Wakefield is discredited and lost his medical license because of his work on vaccines and autism. But before this he published numerous papers on Crohn’s disease, and believed the link between MMR and IBD involved an IBD-like intestinal disorder called autistic enterocolitis. These later publications have not been fully discredited.

For several years I have been more or less alone on this forum questioning the the efficacy of childhood vaccinations. Now we don't need to say anything anymore. Even though the movie VAXXED is blackballed there is such a grassroots demand for screenings that thousands of people are able to view it at select theaters. This week it is available on DVD.

Key points in the movie are that the anti-vaxxers are not against vaccines, only combining them and administering them too quickly. Andrew Wakefield has always supported monovalent vaccines, including measles, mumps, and rubella given separately over an extended period of time.

The head of the CDC finally had to admit under oath to congress that there has never been a study to directly compare autism rates of children with vaccines against children who have not had vaccines. And finally there were serious allegations from a CDC whistle-blower who says that the studies that were conducted by the CDC were fraudulently manipulated.

California recently passed a law more or less forcing all children to get vaccinated. But I guarantee you that any parent who saw VAXXED will not vaccinate their little ones on the current schedule. I see a train wreck directly ahead so this controversy will be resolved one way or another very soon.

I hope that the allegations in the movie are shown to be bogus and it is proven that vaccines have nothing to do with IBD or autism.

iPoop: I respect your opinion though find it curious you don't feel I have a case without having a look at my case or medical records. Three board certified medical doctors told me they were sure it was the vaccines. Thank you for sharing

Are you referring to herd immunity? It's interesting the recent case in Arkansas:
There's a mumps outbreak in Arkansas. Almost 100 kids total. All of the kids with mumps have been vaccinated Against the mumps with the MMR vaccine.

Joel's use of logic is just as bad as his use of the apostrophe. Sad!

People who become absolutely convinced that x caused their IBD never seem to consider that, even if their conviction is actually right which most of the time it probably isn't, they could only get IBD because they had a genetic susceptibility to it. Which means they were always vulnerable to developing IBD and if x hadn't caused it, then y or z probably would (or, indeed, any combination of an unknown number of factors).

I'm not gonna touch the anti-vaccination stuff with a 10-foot bargepole. I'm just not even going to go there.

@NiceCupOfTea - I'm not absolutely convinced of much. I try and stay away from dogmatic views and look at theories from experts heaps smarter than myself, on both sides of any discussion. What are your thoughts on genetic susceptibility? I've heard varying degrees of percentages related to genes and disease.

@Richard - Certainly no mystery to herd immunity. Curious your thoughts on the recent outbreak in Arkansas? Again, like I wrote above, I'm learning, evolving out loud through this conversation of how is this possible. i.e. Vaccinated children, 100% of them, becoming sick.

Again, to be clear, I don't have a strong opinion either way. And if I did, that's not important. There's strong empirical data supporting both sides. What I truly care about is the science and facts.
