Lialda cutting down to 2 pills

Are you in remission (a total absence of uc symptoms)? How many bms a day, any urgency, blood etc?

Lialda at 4 pills a day (4,800 milligrams total) is the recommended dose for those who have active uc inflammation.

Lialda at 2 pills a day (2,400mgs) is the recommended maintenance dose for those who are in remission.

Those are textbook cases, and we're all individuals who may require different doses to actually maintain remission.

You can try it, just watch your symptoms closely and should they get worse then you likely need a higher dose to maintain your symptoms.

iPoop, Not really any urgency, if I do it's in the morning and depending on what I eat. Usually 2-3 bms a day in average some more. No blood for I would say close to 2 months. I have always kinda had a weak stomach.


soynomore-They are keeping the prescription for 4 a day. I took 2 yesterday and 2 today. I make take 3 for a couple of weeks and go from there.

Ditto....4800 mg dropped to 2400 mg is waaaay too fast.

Are you on rectals as well?...because that should be part of your regimen, especially if you start to flare as very first symptoms (which would be constipation)

I'm on four Lialda a day. If I don't do my rectals I flare. So I guess I'm not really in remission and four pills is appropriate.
