I am in such vicious pain night and day due to UC and rectal area pain that I may induce myself into a brain aneurysm or something similar from the stress and Torment. I literally have not slept though the night in years. I don't want to go to the emergency because I know all they are going to do is give me IV steroids for a day then send me home with more and steroids the last time I took them for only a short 2 month taper made me so sick and near death in a different type of way i never want to take them again.
I am trying to get to see a UC specialist who hopefully can get me on entyvio infusions but I have to survive until who knows how bloody long it will take (probably months in canada) until that even becomes a possibility as I can barely get out of bed now let alone cook or go to the store and I have no one to help me at all and may not make it unless I get some temp meds to take for up to 2 months until hopefully I get an appointment with the uc specialist.
I need some pain meds and sleep meds to help me survive for this period or I think I may not make it. The problem is that I recently read this in a UC article's findings:
Somebody said...
According to Higgins, the causes of ulcerative colitis aren't clear, but they may have something to do with an interaction between a person's genetic makeup and another factor, such as infection or the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, a class of painkillers that includes ibuprofen (Advil) and naproxen (Aleve).
I was literally about
to go buy aleve but then decided to research it first and found that quote. So Advil and Aleve are 100% out.
I am wondering if anyone has been on long term pain meds and or sleep meds and what are the names of them. They can be prescript
ion or over the counter type. Preferably I am talking to people with UC who did not get their symptoms increase when using them for up to or over 2 months. I would like to avoid long term Tylenol use due to internal bleeding risks. Also I don't want to take Aspirin long term as I get the hearing damage side effect from it.
Thanks
