C diff on Entyvio

Hi everyone,
I've been on Entyvio for a while now (get it every 4 weeks), and last month, the day after my infusion, I had terrible GI cramps, and worsening symptoms. That has never happened before as I usually feel better after my infusions. I called my doc and he gave me Bentyl and had me tested for C. diff, which came out positive (this is my 5th time with C. diff). He has decided not to treat with antibiotics this time and is sending me to an infectious control doc to see about a fecal transplant, so its been untreated for at least a month now.

Anyway, the horrible pain resolved within a few days and I was feeling okay, but not back to my normal. I got another infusion two days ago and the same thing happened again, horrible cramping and increased symptoms the next day and still today. I'm not sure if the entyvio infusions are allowing the C. diff symptoms to increase or what is going on.

I'd love to hear if anyone has any input or has had a similar experience.

Are you on Saccharomyces boulardii? It's proven to help with c. diff. Until the FMT (which has a 92%+ cure rate for c. diff), I'd recommend getting on a probiotic regimen, eating some fermented foods, getting proper nutrition + rest to let the body recover, etc. Antibiotics prime the body for further c. diff / bacterial infections, so it's good your doc is finally treading wisely.

That is terrible bad luck to have had to endure C diff for the fifth time. Fortunately, FMT treatment should eradicate the C Diff.

Just one thought....when I had C Diff I had family members totally bleach my whole house as it is very easy to re-infect, you probably already know this of course...best of luck to you.
