Vsl 3 superprobiotic, gas, bloating and in Mucus

HI,

I was wondering if any of you had experienced a noticeable amount of mucus (no blood) gas and some cramping after starting a VSL 3 regimen? I'mean recently began taking lialda along with VSL 3 and have noticed more mucus in my stool since. I recently overcame a boutique of food poisoning that irritated my colon a week ago, and am trying to avoid a flare but am beginning to fear the worst. Have a docs appointment tomorrow. Will ask him as well, but hoping to avoid steroids at this point.

I take VSL #3 DS. I never had any issues.

I had a lot of gas when on vsl ds#3.

Because I have had UC for years, it'd be naive to think that I'm not, at the very least having a mild flare, regardless of how it may have been triggered. Hopefully the lialda/VSL3 combo resolve this in a few weeks. I had crazy gas yesterday, but welcome it as long as there's no mucus or bloody discharge associated therewith. The mucus attached to the stool that has persisted for as week is what concerns me. It'd intermittent, but persists. Usually, my flares kick in full swing about two to 3 days after the mucus appears. This time has been different. At this point I should just stop worrying about it and see what the doctor says tomorrow.

Lots of gas and loose stools for me too when it comes to the VSL#3. I was taking the pill form and not the packets.

BB Jonsen - if you had food poisoning, the best thing you can do is to switch to slippery elm, it's just a miracle thing for me. VSL is really very good but i can't take it every day because it gives me more bm so i take it every 3 days and it works great
