Hairloss is a tough one to track down. Bad flares can leave us malnourished, we can be anemic, have low levels of vitamins B, B12 and D within our systems, and any one of those things can cause hairloss. Hairloss tends to be a delayed-reaction, it doesn't happen when we're flaring but rather several months in.
The hair will regrow. You can get a blood test to make sure your iron, and vit b, and d levels aren't out of range. If they still are then you might need to supplement to get your levels back up and regrow the hair.
Many of us with UC have a MTHFR gene mutation which can lead to several different degrees of low folate (vit b12).
