How many of you try to skip a night of enemas and your rectum goes bonkers the next day? This seems to be a problem of mine. And sometimes I forget to do the enema and I pay for it.

Me!! I can't skip a night, ever. Probably lingering inflammation that barely gets held back by using the enemas.

I was on nightly rowasa for years as a taper was impossible. Skip a day or two and then there was hell to pay... mr colon was angry and his wrath was known...

Hi IPoop and Hateuc. Haven't connected with my enema buddies in quite awhile. Good to see you on the forum. It seems like a real turnover since I got on in '09. Haven't been around. Nice to be back.

Good to hear from you again. Yeah often people visit when they're flaring and forget about the forum when they're in remission, and often it's the newly diagnosed who are the most active posters at least until they get their uc under control. So, lot's of turnover for sure.

I am supposed to work my way down to every third night, then twice a week, but my body really likes every other day better. Strangely it isn't my rectum that gets cranky but my sigmoid that bothers me.

Thanks Journey! Good to see you too! Yes, I take 2 Lialda....if I take anymore I have some intolerance issues. I guess it is okay though, since most of my inflammation is at the bottom and I know that orals have a hard time reaching. I am forever hoping they will come out with something better. I would die for meslamine foam so I could not have to lie down for 30 min every day!!!!!

The foam would be nice....only 1g per dosage tho.

Yeah, 1 gram or not, I'm dying for that foam!! I really really wish it would become available in the US. I wonder if there's ever plans to bring it here. Maybe once the patent for Canasa runs out.

Hi. Ellen and hateuc......you can alternate with a 2g dosage enemas and see how that goes.
