Hi
I am so pleased to read that people are having success with this treatment.
I haven't been on the site for a while as my health has been good. I was diagnosed with UC about
10 years ago, which flared terribly midway through my third pregnancy. I was hospitalised for ten days on IV steroids, but was unable to stay well after being discharged.
In desperation, with the support of my specialist, I tried FMT at home using my husband as a donor. The treatments definitely helped, but my symptoms would return when I stopped doing the transplants. After the birth of my daughter, my symptoms disappeared completely for a year or so. Since then, symptoms have been variable, but generally manageable. about
12 months ago, things were getting pretty bad again, and I was heading towards requiring hospitalisation again. I decided to do a transplant using my daughters stool. Two treatments, and I've been symptom free for 12 months. My last colonoscopy declared me to be in endoscopic remission, and my specialist is totally impressed
I encourage those of you interested in attempting this treatment to use a family member if possible. Whilst I had a positive response using my husbands stool, it has been much more significant with my daughter as a donor.
I am not using any other treatments, and haven't for a few years.
Happy to share if anyone has any questions.
Be well!
