Burning skin

Hi!

I have looked through the forum and haven't seen anyone address this. When my proctitis is irritated, by food, stress, whatever, my skin burns. Burns like I have a sunburn from the inside out. The skin burning was my first symptom, almost a decade ago--long before any other symptoms.

Has anyone had this experience?

The upside is I can always tell when I am in 'trouble' because my scalp is screaming with the burning. It is constant and my most intrusive symptom.

My doctor thinks things that are gut related can cause skin symptoms. I have no argument with that. But this seems so idiosyncratic to me. It would help to know I am not alone.

That suggestion does help! I was having very bad skin burning pain this morning. The next time that flares up I will try a benedryl and see what that does for the pain. I am on vacation so if I need to go back to sleep, I can.

And though I am sorry for the acne reaction, it provides an odd comfort that we both get skin reactions on our heads.
