I have had Ulcerative Colitis for 31 years, during which I have experienced 5 flare-ups, so luckily, most of the time my UC has been in remission. And in the past, Predisone has been effective when I had a flare-up. However, last May, at the age of 64, I experienced my worst flare-up, experiencing pain and weight loss that left me very week. Predisone was not effective at getting me back to normal and I had started down the path of moving from Asulfazine to Humira. Reading the possible side effects of Humira caused me concerns and my wife suggested I give Cannabinoids (CBD) a try. And since we were driving through Colorado, I purchased a one month supply of medical marijuana oil. Specifically, I purchased (url removed)This oil was created specifically for children so it has a very low THC content. I do not experience a high from the oil at all. I started with 2 10mg/ml doses a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. When I started taking the oil I was winding down my Predisone dosage to 10mg a day....after taking a much higher dosage since May, as I was anticipating starting Humira as soon as the insurance paperwork was complete. But before the Humira was improved I started noticing an improvement, a reduction in bleeding, discomfort, and bowl movements. So I decided to delay starting Humira to give the CBD treatment a chance. After 6 weeks I was almost back to normal, only taking the Asulfazine and the CBD. i have continued taking the CBD oil every day and I was in complete remission after 10 weeks. I now do a daily dosage of CBD, however I have switched from the oil to the capsule dosage of 15 mg per day. The CBD capsule is a new product and It is easier to travel with than the bottle of oil and dropper used to put it in your mouth. I am a believer in CBD because I feel it worked for me and was much more affordable (with fewer potential side effects) than Humira. You can go to the (website removed) to get more information. And because they have classified this as a hemp product (due to the low THC), it can be shipped to any state in the US.
The only side effects I have noticed is that I drink a lot more water and have the need to pee more often. I shared information with my doctor about
the success I had with the CBD treatment and she was skeptical, but said she would do a little research and I am looking forward to my next colonoscopy in a month to get there opinion on how by gut looks compared to the other 17 colonoscopies I have had through the years.
