Anyone in Etrolizumab trial?

Just got the paperwork for the Etrolizumab trial today. Curious as to whether anyone was already in this study?

Im curious about it too. I know its an alpha7beta7 antibody ("similar" to vedolizumab in that respect) but I havent heard of this one before.

Based on what I am reading…it sounds like vedolizumab except is given sub q (shot) every 4 weeks. It is a phase 3 trial. It starts out open label (you definitely get the med) then goes to randomized. There is a ton of info on PML. However what I read is that no one in phase 1 or phase 2 (ongoing) were infected w/ PML. You do have to take JC virus test before start (along w/ colonoscopy, chest x ray and ekg). I did all that stuff when I was in a mtx study.

PML scares me. I am happy no one has showing signs of it but it's probably been a pretty smell group of people who have tried the drug when you really think about it. Not be scare anyone. I hope it's safe and effective :)

^I know. One of my buddies has MS. She is on tsybari and tested positive for the JC virus. Scares me for her.

Thanks for the link! I have been reading and rereading this huge packet of info the doctor sent me. I did a MTX trial last year and it was pretty straight forward. There is a lot more reading in this one. I meet w/ my doctor and the research people on the 23rd to discuss.

Hopefully PML isint a big issue with this drug. The hypothesized reason it is an issue with Natalizumab is that that drug also affects the alpha1/beta7 integrin which is related to the CNS/brain. Alpha7/beta7 seems to be more GI specific (like vedolizumab) so hopefully it wont be an issue

I'm on this as an open label trial for UC (phase III I think), which I moved onto after a randomized trial. I have been on Etrolizumab for circa 12 months and it took for from a severe flare and very close to surgery as an option to full remission. It took 3 months to achieve a remission, an iron infusion and a course of steroids but since it started working I'm feeling in full remission and close to 100% health. No real side effects expect very minor headaches for a day or day after the four weekly injection. Let me know if people want more information?

My appologies for my English, it is not my native language.

I have almost the same situation as the person in previous post.
around 1,5 years ago. before starting rabdomized trial I was flaring heavily with bowel motions every 1-2 hours mostly with bloody liquid. I still do not know what I get during randomized trial, at the beginning it seemed like helping but then healing effect sopped.
Since February 2016 I am getting Etrolizumab (phase III) and I am much better since then. Flare stoped after first two injections. Now I occasionally can see blood after toilet, but usually it happens when my body suffers some kind of a stress - illness (I had tonsilitis in october, taking antibiotics), long flight or something like that.

I am cations even thinking about full remission but right now my life seems pretty normal.
