Here is an FYI.
I have taken huge amounts and it never put me into remission, but from this
if you are in remission, higher vitamin D levels might keep you there.

I take it regularly and i think it is very good for me, i've recently bought vit D which has a special coconut oil coating to make absorption better

Thanks. I'll make sure to keep on my prescript
ion. It's the one I always forget to take.

I've been taking 5000mg a day for 4 months....still no remission but I didn't have expectations it would heal me either. Can't hurt.
Thanks OM. Nice to see you here again.

I've taken vit D daily for years - and my levels are still either low or just barely into the lower limits of ok.
And I've even taken the prescript
ion-level vit D a few times and found that my levels barely changed, if at all, after finishing the script
.
Some people have chronically low vit D even with supplementation. Studies of Rx vit D supplementation showed that some people's levels jumped right up, while other people's levels barely moved (and this was a group of 'healthy' people, not people with IBD in whom there may be malabsorption). So there's something deeper going on in regards to Vit D levels being low in some people.
