Switching from Remicade to Entyvio. Any advice?

After 5 years on Remicade, and achieving full remission, I decided to stop it (long story involving a severe lack of $$$). When I tried to go back on it I never was symptom free again, and also developed pneumonia. Due to this my Dr has switched me to Entyvio. She warned me that I "might get worse before I got better". Sure enough, I am now in a full blown flare: mucous, blood, urgency, severe pain.

She's put me on 40 mgs of Prednisone with a 5mg a week taper (I am now at 30mg), to bridge the gap. These are my only two meds.

Has anyone ever gone through this? Is it normal to feel so sick? I am so discouraged and regretting my decision.

All I know is it's a waiting game for now. My next infusion is in April (will be my 4th). I am begging for an appointment with my GI at that time, but so far only have one with the Nurse Practitioner. I am also praying that by April I'll be on my way to feeling better though.

I kept my log from when I went on the Remicade, and I know it took 2 months (4 infusions) to even begin to see a change. 4 months to begin to feel normal again....

I appreciate an actual number of weeks in which I can expect to see an improvement. I couldn't find anything online and Dr was very vague, but did say it took longer than Remi.

I am tapering the Pred 5mg per week, so should be off it just as it kicks in.

Although I am seeing more good days than bad days!! Am so, so thankful I am starting to feel semi-normal again.
