Hello it's me again. Sorry for disrupting again sad but i have a question. I noticed that my stool have some red spot on stool, when i break the stool i saw a lot of red piece and it's soft. Nothing red when i wipe and the red things does not mix in the water. So is it blood or papaya guys. I had papaya the day before and had that problem until now. Thank you very much guys smile

if it's not liquid it probably is food residue. If you are not seeing blood on the paper or in the water, I would assume that it is not blood, also giving the more solid nature of it that you are describing. Many foods can give this, and some might even give the impression of actual blood on the paper! so, if it were me, I would relax, nothing to worry about!

Ditto otaneresp. Blood on toilet paper is what we worry about with UC flares. It's likely food residue that's partially digested (and it undergoes color changes as it's immersed in stomach acid and the various enzymes used in digestion). Try not to worry.

You're allowed an unlimited number of questions, no worries on how many you might need to ask ;-)

if you eat fruits like papaya or watermelon or juice like carrot or beet roots on empty stomach then there are more chances that you will see them in your poop next day..whenever i drink carrot and beet root juice,i poop red each and every-time

Thanks guys. One more question, if i have uc flare my symptom is similar like the first time when i know i had uc right ?

No....not true. Inflammation happens in increments and location extent. Both present with different symptoms.
If you wait for first flare symptoms....you are waiting too long.

What meds are you on? If you're using oral 5ASA mesalamine with red coatings....that could be what you're seeing in your stool.

Foodstuffs could definitely look like blood once it's mixed with stool and we fear the possibility.

A flare includes one or more of the following symptoms: diarrhea, blood, urgency, frequent bowel movements, pain, tenesmus (the feeling you have to poop but cannot) and/or fatigue. A flare is often multiple (sometimes all) of those symptoms. A flare isn't just a one day occurrence, rather the symptoms persist for at least 5 days and then you should contact your gasteroenterologist doctor as soon as possible. We can have minor flares, moderate flares, and severe flares where we are even hospitalized.

Update for today guys, my stool is back to normal so i'm pretty sure it's just papaya XD thanks for you guys help after all smile
