Mild inflammation but symptoms worse

Just had my scope last Wednesday, mild inflammation he told me. My symptoms sure dont feel mild...have appt. on Thursday to look at biopsy report. And to get some other meds. this flare is lasting wayy to long. Anyway i added Primadophilus Reuteri and that seems to be hlping but thought about doubling up canasa at night. anyone do that..or i guess i should just do one during the day.

mild inflammation where ? just the rectum or the whole darn thing ?

i would go for the elegant enema at nite, followed by the stupendous suppository in the am - maybe double up on the MMJ smilewinkgrin

When I was in the hospital, they were giving me 4 suppositories (at once) a night ... not sure if they were Canasa or if the dosage was less or not, although they were smaller than the prescription Canasa -- but anyway, the instructions when I came home were for 4 a night, so I did that for a few days until I called the doctor to confirm-- it was a mistake and he said to only do one per night. But I have doubled up on them with no problems.

jazz...what exctly are your symptoms? And same qyestion as soy..mild inflammation where?

I second the enemas...bigger bang for the treatment and if you need, do the supps in the day.

Awesome you got the primadophilus reuteri 😊 you can double them..... best time to take them is at bedtime.

Ditto the above posts. Ask your gasteroenterologist for a prescription for mesalamine-based enemas: rowasa/pentasa/salofalk.

There can sometimes be a discomnect between symptoms and inflammation levels. I remember being 3-4 bms a day and thought i was doing great, yet my scope showed severe inflamation (doc said my large intestine looked like ground hamburger meat...). It happens.

Hi thanks, yes inflammation in the rectum and he said it hasn't spread at all, same location. Will find out more tomorrow. The pictures of my scope look alot better than how i feel. my symptoms are the same, urgency in the morning and i go 2 -3 times. One day ill go 2 times the next 8. Strange too its like clockwork 4pm almost every day it starts to hit me, never was like that, it was always morning from hell but once that was over i was ok the rest of the day. i recently cut out milk as i thought that might have something to do with it and its helped. Also this flare went a couple months with very little blood, was like it was walking the tight rope, do i go into a full flare or pull out of it..well alot of stress in my life with my wife having Breast cancer and she finally is at the end of that that lasted over a year. I didnt flare though her whole ordeal, chemo, surgery's, radiation, reconstruction,,then bam i went into a full flare later on..sorry for the venting.

i will ask for enemas, hope i dont have to go on the pred but i actually do well on it believe it or not.

well im back on pred, discussed my scope with doc and he said it really looks pretty good except going up the left side a little. Took biopsy everywhere and no pre-cancer. this seems like a long stretch to be on pred he wants me to start two weeks at 40 and then two weeks at 30 etc etc. does that seem like a long time or is that pretty standard..i dont remember taking it for that long a few years ago when i had a flare. thanks

That seems about right for pred, but so about three months on it? I'm starting on my fourth month and I can't get below 20mg. If it worked for you before, it should work again smile that's positive.
