Is flare make uc spread ?

i think it can be either way. i think a flare often happens after inflammation spreads; but during a flare the gut microbes are in dysbiosis and that is perfect conditions for inflammation to spread

Yes, when we flare there is a definite increase in the odds of our UC to go further in extent. Does it always? No. Some have UC for decades and their UC never spreads/advances in extent. UC can advance when our inflammation is mild, moderate, or severe (doesn't matter). It's most likely to spread within the first, 5 years of our initial diagnosis if it's going to.

Try not to worry. Severity of inflammation is what matters the most, not the extent of it. I'd rather have 1-meter of very mild inflammation than 12-centimeters of a very-severe inflammation. As severe inflammation is pure misery: 10 or more bowel movements a day, extreme urgency with incontinence, and painful.

Throughout the course of having UC the extent of inflammation changes. When we're in a remission we have no inflammation. Mild flares might involve just the rectum. Moderate flares might go further.

Yes my daily med is pentasa 500mg 1g/day but i'm in flare now so my med are 2g/day pentasa and 2 dose normagut. Thanks for replying guys i think i should have coloscopy next week right ? I'm afraid of the inflammation spread because the chance of colon cancer
