about a year ago, husband started on Xeljanz. It is not yet approved for UC but everything else hadn't worked and doctor suggested he give this a try since surgery was the only option. Amazingly insurance agreed to cover it.
Within a week he felt that it was working and by about four months in he felt like he was in full remission. Colonoscopy in the fall confirmed that. No apparent side effects. It is 4 small pills a day. I have read that Pfizer is hoping it will get FDA approval for UC this year. For people who have failed the anti-TNF biologics and entyvio, this may be a good alternative.
