Prednisone taper was this safe

I was on Prednisone 40mg for three months and this is how my taper went
40mg
30mg week
20mg a week
10 mg a week
5 mg a week then stopped
I've been worried about adrenals not working I'm waiting results on my cortisol levels as I had them do e yesterday.

What makes you think your adrenals aren't awake? What are you experiencing?

There's no standard taper, nothimg unusual about that one. Smaller srops at the end help some with withdrawal.

I've been keeping nausea and dirreah after I came off the Prednisone and those are on the withdraw list, and I was told on another site that I tapered to fast adrenals is probably not working and that's why the dirreah I been freaking out I've tried to get ahold of my GI they never call me back so I have an app with a new GI April 10. My regular Dr has been helping me the best she can she checked my cortisol I'm still waiting results on that. She is also checking me for cdiff I have to turn a stool sample in on Monday as they are out today. This doesn't feel like a flare to me I don't have stomach cramping at all no blood no fever ect.just seems my bowels won't bulk up and this has caused me much stress and worry I'm not eating much at all

To me, it sounds like you're flaring again after getting off of the pred. Diarrhea is a UC flare symptom (or c diff symptom). Nausea is also a UC flare symptom. Are you seeing any blood?

I've read posters who have had confirmed adrenal issues after pred and what's more typical is a lot of fatigue and bodywide aches and pains. The adrenals naturally produce cortisol which regulates sleep and wakeup cycles, it also is a mild, natural pain-reliever. Without any cortisol (adrenal fatigue), it just messes with those things. As always see what your cortisol test says. I'd wager it's not that.

Do you get any bloodwork? What's your WBC is it high (typical for a flare)? Do you get CRP blood tests or fecal calprotectin stool tests to monitor your inflammation levels? And if so are they elevated (flare sign)?

No I'm not seeing any blood and I pray I don't I'm suppose to take apriso I can't swallow those pills I started smoking again in hopes to keep me in remission. I've spoken to two friends that has UC and they both told me coming off Prednisone they got watery dirreah but if this is my case I'm wondering how long this will go on it's getting old I don't run to bathroom all day mornings is the worst.im going to be tested for cdiff have to turn sample in Mon

My cortisol results is in my adrenals are working my results was 16.2 thank God

Good. That was the most likely case since you did taper. But this means you have a flare to deal with and no maintenance med.

Looks like my taper except I go for five days and I don't go to 5mg. I go from 10 for five days to 0.
