Hey guys,
I wanted to ask a few questions. The main one is - what makes your symptoms better? share your diet, meds, supplements, special foods, etc. I'd love that.
2) Do you have any tips how to avoid urgency? It's very annoying to have "accidents".
3) about that urgency, ever since im on diet I have no blood/mucus, but I have plenty of BMs. It's like when I eat something, my body won't rest until my colon is empty. Now the weird part is, if I have urgency, and I hold it, suddenly its all bloody and has mucus. It's like all the symptoms are just waiting there round the corner.

I am taking 6MP and Lialda. I've been in remission for two years now. I keep as much stress out of my life that I can. My diet is anything that doesn't give me problems. Food is very individual so what works for one might not work for another.

What meds are you taking?

Hey, I am taking Humira, and Pentasa daily, switching to Asacol but it's basically the same

I had surgery and that made me better.

Prior, I used mesalamine with success for a few years. Fasting. 6mp. Steroids, either pred or Uceris always helped me. Rectals too.

Pentasa is the least effective mesalamine for UC I believe. It releases too high and it's better for Crohns. Look it up. I would definitely consider Asacol/Apriso/Lialda/Delzicol/Colazal (If it's left sided).

I am taking boswellia and turmeric twice a day, switching tommorow to Asacol.
Taking probiotic here and there, sliperry elm before bed, and injecting humira once in two weeks

I don't know about the overall stats, but Pentasa for me was perfect and I had no inflammation in my small intestine. I think the majority of it releases in the large bowel so to say it releases too high sounds a bit dismissive to me.

I have to admit I don't know how it compares to the other mesalazines though. you could be right, I just wouldn't say Pentasa releases "too high" as it is effective for many with UC.

Now, for helping with urgency, what about enemas? That's what I'd recommend for urgency. As for when you hold it in and end up with blood / mucous later, yes I have noticed that a few times with me as well. It is a little strange. Interesting to know that it's not just me!

Yonix what is your diet?
To many bowel motions means a lot of inflammation. And whatever you eat either aggravates inflammation or soothes it.
Try elimination diet and check what suits you. Wheat corn milk meat are some major triggers.

I don't eat sugar at all except for dark chocolate. I don't eat dairy, No processed foods etc.
Inflammation causing all these BMs sounds strange to me, because if it's true I would be bleeding all the time, which isn't happening mostly.
