6mp dosage?

hi all,

for those of you who have been on 6mp, what was your dosage? my doctor wants me to start at 100mg which i feel is really high? although it is being used to treat 3 conditions (UC, ITP & eosinophilia) so maybe that's why?

6MP is a weight-based medication and for ulcerative colitis it's 1 to 1.5 milligrams per kilogram of weight. I'm 150 pounds or 68 kilograms, and therefore my recommended dosage of 6MP is 68mgs at the low end of the scale 102 at the high end of the scale. My gasteroenterologist has me at 75mgs of 6MP at the moment. Most UC doses, i tend to find are between tge high and lows.

100mgs is a reasonable dose of 6MP for some weights.
