Run out of pred a few days early

Hi all hope everyone is ok?

I'm now down to my last week of tappering pred at 5mg however I'm supposed to have enough to get me to next Saturday inclusive but I've only got 3 tablets left, should I ask for 3 more or should I just leave it? My symptoms have still gone away at present.

You could refil the prescription. You could cut the tablets in half to last longer. How long have you been on pred?

Thanks for the reply I've been on pred for 7 weeks I don't think they will give me a prescription for 3 tablets?

I think in your shoes I would just cut them in half and continue on with taking 2.5g a day. I have been on 5mg for months, and I am now on 2.5mg for another two weeks.

Hard to say at 7 weeks in you could likely taper faster but there's no guaratee there'd be no troubles. You could refill and just have extra pred on-hand as a just in case sorta thing (go on travel or vacation and bring some extra pred along should you flare).

Thanks all I'd ask for the additional 3 tablets or additional prescription but I'm pretty sure my consultant would say no if I have no symptoms? Do you reckon I'd be able to get another prescription with no symptom? Or just fib? I'd feel better if I had some extra to be honest just don't know how to get them as they are not on my repeat prescription

Any refills left? It should be printed on the bottle. (E.g. 2 od 3 refills left).

No there's nothing if I want some more I'd have to lie but as said previous I'd feel more confident if I had some in case it goes pair shaped when I finish as I'm going away the week after? It's all about repeat prescriptions in the uk
