Oh man, there's no denying it now. It's a flare. Went from going once a day, perfectly formed, no urgency to four to five loose semi urgent a day in what seems like an overnight change. Literally was fine the day before and now not. It's been a week like this so it's obviously a flare and not a bug or something I ate. I'm so sad and worried. I'm just back to work after maternity leave and can't afford to be needing time off. I also have a one year old to run after. Just not sure how I'm going to manage a flare on top of everything else. I've increased my Pentasa to full dose (from maintenance dose) and started nightly suppositories yesterday. All of my enemas have expired, so I'm going to do the suppositories for a few days and see if that will help, if things get worse I will have to phone the doc for a prescript
ion for enemas. Argh, I was just starting to really enjoy remission and trust my colon again (accident anxiety finally almost gone). Now? Gah.
This is my first flare since my initial flare that lead to diagnosis. Please tell me it's not likely to get AS BAD as it was the first time? I've been on my maintenance meds the whole time and feel like I'm on it pretty quickly now, whereas before diagnosis they had me with no meds and going on for quite sometime before they figured out what was wrong. Please tell me that's why it was so bad and not every flare lasts years?

So sorry! I know how disenheartening a flare can be. I can't answer you about
severity as I've yet to see a true remission myself. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hmm, yes, this is possible. I will ask my dr. But wait, Wouldn't c diff be explosive and smelly? I've never had it but read a lot of descript
ions about
it in here, lol.

I'm sorry to hear this! I think if you jump on this flare it won't get as bad as the last one. Hang in there. I agree, get a stool test just to be safe and ask for a new script
for enemas.
Having a 1 year old is exhausting and going back to work won't help there. I would bet stress had something to do with this flare up. Fingers crossed you stop this in its tracks quickly.

there is really no telling. I have been in remission, or so it seems, for almost two months. Yesterday i went out at work and got some chicken wings, some were hot and proceeded to have slightly blooded diarrhea last night. Took an extra dose of turmeric caps and a cup of bone broth and back to fully formed, perfectly normal stool today.
Hurts to say but a lot of time I dont give a darn. I email my doctor from time to time to tell him whats going on but crap if i live in and out of remission until im 60 then get cancer i guess its how she goes (obviously i dont want that)
