i think this is the second time in a year that i've used it, so decided it was time to sound off - don't remember last time why, but pretty sure it was a similar situation - my surgery in january included new, funky meds before, during, and after - plus all the other trauma-drama that body invasion involves - so while things haven't been bad, they have not been right - no matter what i did or didn't do, just couldn't get back to status quo -

so finally got out the AC last nite, downed 8 capsules in 12 hours, and while not a complete turnaround, it has been like before, a significant change (besides the turds that look like they should be on the BBQ) that can't be ignored or attributed to anything else -

my advice is this: if you've tried lots of things and still can't find relief, give this stuff a shot - i had a pounding headache all day, but gone now - that's it for side effects (or could have been the weather change) -

i think it can be used as a regular supplement, but i'm not sure how well it works for that - it does have many and varied uses - many tho are for fixing a problem, not maintaining a certain level of wellness -

i really don't have a lot of experience with it's different applications - so far it's been to resolve an issue that couldn't be resolved with diet - or at least in the time frame i wanted -

there are AC threads back to 2008 on this forum - maybe take some time to read them - like pretty much every drug or other treatment that is used, it works for some, not so much for others -

so how long have you been using it and what kind of results have you seen -

at least for me anyway, this stuff is pretty darn near miraculous - will never not have it on the shelf -

i tend to use caprylic acid when i have been consuming too much sugar for my body to handle - it works well for me also -

one other thing > if you try AC, make sure you drink lots of additional water - the stuff does tend to suck you dry ! and the extra h2o will help move things out the back door

Activated charcoal can bind to your medicines, though...

thanks K - ya , the turds are coming around - not perfect yet, but i tend to assess my wellness on how i'm feeling and doing, not always being overly concerned with the shape ...... or not of my poop -

there are so many things that come into play that for me it's hard to get bogged down in the minor details - what i eat, how i sleep, how the kid is doing, the flippin weather (that has finally got it's sh!t together > sunshine and no hurricane force winds), etc. - it all factors in, and from one day to the next things can and do change - as long as things are moving along at a reasonable pace, and in the right direction, i'm good !

Thanks for posting this. UC was already under control. A month ago I took activated charcoal because I was feeling a little down mentally and this has been a recurrent thing through my life - where if I eat too late/more than what I'm comfortable with I have a hangover day the next - though the gut has vastly improved SINCE diagnosis and started taking care of what I eat. Most of my days included hangover in part. I believe I have a defective gut in that sense hah.

do best with eating little in terms of both energy and health. So every night straight after dinner for a month I've been adding a sprinkle of activated charcoal mixed in psyllium seed powder and in a tea base and voila I'm better than I've ever been - no more hangovers. And no UC effect even after eating (though intelligently, must stress) when out on dates.
