haven't gained single pound

i am completely symptoms free from last 1 month with 2 BM's per day but haven't gained single pound in a month..weight is same as when i was flaring.i am eating ok,also feel hungry but not gaining weight...cause?

It can take a long while to gain weight. Took me a few years to gain even 5 pounds.

I am experiencing the exact same thing. about two months ago I had a mild flare and was able to get back to almost 100 percent. I'm only experiencing some very minor left side discomfort, usually after a bm but don't have diarrhea or blood. Only going 2-3 times a day which is normal for me in remission.

Before my flare, I weighed about 170lbs and I made some changes in my diet during my flare. I used to drink a lot of milk and have given it up completely. I drink a much smaller amount of kefir everyday with the vsl3 probiotics I take in the morning. My weight has levelled off at around 155 and I haven't been able to gain any weight back, even with slightly larger meals and higher calorie foods. I am going for a colonoscopy next Monday to make sure I'm doing ok, and I have to admit I'm feeling ok. It's just really weird that everyone who knows me asks why I've lost so much weight and it's hard to broach the subject when you have to explain that you have UC, so I usually speak to the fact that I've been trying to make healthier food choices, which I have.

My gastroenterologist told me that even reducing your caloric intake my 500 calories a day can have a significant impact on your weight. The fact that I used to drink four litres of milk in less than a week and now I don't might account for some of my weight changes, but I would still like to gain a little bit back, even 10lbs.

My recommendation would be to keep making healthy food choices and eat a balanced diet. I feel I made too many drastic changes when I began to flare, which may have helped me get out of it, but I lost about 15lbs in just over a month.

I am in the same boat. My normal weight is around 165 lbs. After my first flare, I was down to 148. It took me a full year of heavy weight training and focusing on eating lots of calories to get back to 165. If I don't pay attention for a week or two, I can drop 5-10 lbs like nothing, and its months to get it back. Really frustrating. I'm hovering around 155 right now, which is lighter than I'd like to be. I cut out all grains, lactose and sugar which makes it even harder. My go to foods are larabars and natural peanutbutter. I also try to add olive oil to everything.

i try to focus on being healthy and productive - i know for me gaining some weight was about getting back to "normal" - but for me, over time i've accepted the new, slightly less chubby, normal for me -

like others have said, it does take time - even when you're feeling better, your body probably still has some catching up to do in the healing department, and while it's healing, it will gobble up every calorie you put into it - in time, it will show up on the scale - patience is the key - and eating butt-loads of food every day !

i never gained weight on steroids.i am staying away from dairy so i am gonna try soy milk with bananas,may be lactose free ENSURE powder

Im in the same boat right now...cant gain weight. Sick of people saying to me " man you lost alot of weight". been trying to gain it back but i cant.

i do drink Boost, my doc said to start doing that..I do eat meat and eggs, but rarely red meat. More chicken and fish. Im so used to eating small portions too, like my stomach is used to the smaller size now.
