Do you have a copy of the blood test results? Because which enzymes were high?

Do you have a GP? Or just GI doc?

Have you had your vitamin D and B vitamins checked as well as glucose?

Did you have Alkaline Phosphatase done as well?

Yes, they are increasing...but the knee jerk reaction isn't to take you off UC meds.

Ask the doc for a full panel of blood testing.

In what country do you reside?

In the past low levels of iron & vitamin d made so so so fatigued. To the point where standing up from resting I'd get real dizzy.
I'd check your ferritin levels & vit d, & b vitamins too in case.
Hope you feel more energised soon!

Make a list of concerns, and ask your GI to do further tests rather than take you off the mesacal. My liver enzymes climbed after starting the mesalamines, but I do, in fact, have liver disease. I would have been in dire situation without those medications.

Please update us on your appointment....ask for a copy of your results.

Same here. And those levels are just mildly elevated. Liver enzymes can go way, way higher than that without permanent damage to the liver.

Ok....yes, there are risks for the biopsy, that's why I refuse to have one.

Did you get a copy of all the liver enzyme tests you had done? Only 2 tests?

An MRCP.....mri of the abdomen with a contrast that light up the liver, gallbladder, pancreas....will tell more. A liver biopsy doesnt always tell or diagnose.

I would suspect the doc is comcerned you may have Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis or maybe autoimmune Hepatitis. Suspicion is not indicitive of diagnosis. i suggest you know what each test is, write it down and do lots of research. Ask questions here.

It's scary and I went through mind-blowing distress 20 years ago when it was suspected I had PSC. I waited for other testing because I refused anything invasive...firstly because i had no symptoms, and secondly the risks involved with the test such as infection and exacerbation of PSC if it is what I had.

If you are having other tests such as ultrasound, more blood tests, MRI....wait for those results. ASK the doctor what they suspect.

Hang tough, and arm yourself with information so that you know what's going on and why.
