Just had my first colonoscopy in 3 years- I have been in remission for about
2 from a symptomatic perspective. I was diagnosed with severe pancolitiis 4.5 years ago, and my most recent flare 2 years ago was a stubborn one. We were looking at putting me on Remicade, and as a last resort I tried Isatis Cooling, an herb I read about
here. It totally changed things for me.
The past 2 years have not been perfect by any means, and i continue to be vigilant about
my maintenance meds, probiotics, and Isatis when things get funky. I have good days and I have bad days. I do everything I can to take care of my gut health. My lifestyle is very different than it was when I was diagnosed and I work hard at managing my stress and taking care of myself. I have seen a therapist to work through my anxiety issues. I still have some blips, but they seem to be more IBS related than UC. My quality of life is good- I can go wherever I want, travel, and stay active!
I was still a little nervous to hear how things looked inside- but I am happy to report that with the exception of a few pseudopolyps and internal hemmies, he said I was totally normal. Clinical remission. No inflammation. I am so thankful and and will enjoy every minute of it because I know it's not guaranteed. Wishing for this for all of us and so appreciate this forum. It's a lifesaver and I appreciate you. Sorry to get all tender and mushy but this is so amazing to me.

Awesome, so happy for you. Achieving clinical-remission is like winning the lottery, and aptly appreciated after struggling with awful UC symptoms for far longer than anyone truly deserves. Just make sure to enjoy it and stay vigilant on your treatments, as UC can catch you by surprise if you become complacent.

Thanks, ipoop- you are so right. I am terrified of going backwards- it's a healthy fear to have for sure. I know how lucky I am!

That is amazing news!!! I have Isatis Cooling but have yet to try it. Sounds like a good option if needed. Do you take it regularly or only when things get active? Any side effects? Congrats again!!

Hateuc- thanks so much! I will still take the Isatis Cooling if I feel like things are going a little off course, and it generally gets things back in line quickly for me. A lot of people take it with RF Plus and Flavonex, and I just tried those the last time I took a round of it. I felt like those results were even better. I have not experienced any side effects from it. From what I understand, if it's going to work formyou the results will happen quickly- that was the case for me.
I order all of this through Amazon. I hope you have good results!

That's awesome! I've been dealing with a paticularly stubborn flare myself, and it seems as if remicade isn't working anymore. I just started isatis cooling with good results so far! If you don't mind, how much do you take?

Thanks for that info. I really suffer with proctitis-- I wonder if it will help that area. Worth trying. Thanks again and keep up the good work
Yay remission!!

Hi Zarch! When I was actively in a full on flare, I did 5 pills 3x a day until it subsided. I weaned down from there as I improved. If you have an acupuncturist or herbalist near you that you can talk through dosage with, that may be helpful as I'm def not an expert!
Good luck, Hateuc! I hope it works. When mt symptoms pop up they are usually more rectal in nature so crossing my fingers it helps you too!

Awesome news! Let us know the results of the biopsies when you get them.
