Andrina: My disease is below 30 cm with majority of ulceration below 15 cm. In the past, Rowasa was the trick to get bleeding under control relatively quickly, but that hasn't been the case this time. I had a good initial result when I started Humira--about
6 months of remission. It was fabulous! A major stressor in my life caused some mild symptoms to return last summer, but they were manageable for about
8 months. A nasty respiratory infection 1/2017 caused me to be off the Humira for 8 weeks, and I ended up in a full blown flare. By the time I reloaded 3/2017, I think I was just so far gone my body rejected it completely. So, we did a trough and antibody test that showed low anitbodies (122) and almost no medication in my system (1.7). I started the pred taper in April because I just couldn't take it anymore, and I also sought a second opinion in the process. My new doc really didn't want me on the pred at all, so I finished the 4 week taper and he added MTX to help with antibody formation, reloaded my Humira again, and now I'm on weekly dosing. I see him Monday to test trough and antibody levels to see if this is working. If levels aren't good, we'll be discussing moving on to something else..
iPoop: I had c-diff tests 3/8/2017 and 4/28/2017, both negative. Doc actually wants me to test again, but I'm not having typical symptoms of c-diff. Frequency is good--Diarrhea is occasional, I have 1-2 formed BM's a day. No fever, no abdominal pain, no horrid smell. My lingering issues are gas and some visible blood usually during the night and/or first thing in the morning, and some urgency since I still have blood.
Quincy: I was previously retaining for 2-4 hours at night. I'm sure you're right about
giving it more time, I'm just feeling discouraged at the moment
